Joyce Jones, 72, of Ames, died today at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Joyce Jones, 72, of Ames, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service begins at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Joyce Jones was born July 21, 1934, in Des Moines, to Paul and Opal (Frienz) Cox. She married Delbert Jones July 7, 1951, in Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Jones, of Ames; five sons, Delbert "Champ" (Britt) Jones Jr., of Sheldahl, Steve (Sue) Jones, of Ames, Ralph (Jodi) Jones, of Nevada, Gary (Teri) Jones, of Effie, Minn., and Donnie (Lori) Jones, of Story City; one daughter, Kathy Jones, of Story City; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Mae (Jerry) Chapman, of Page, Texas, Patti Jo (Lacey) Austin, of Bartrop, Texas, and Jeanette (Tony) Mortale, of Des Moines; and one brother, John (Vicki) Gardner, of Ankeny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Esther Sodergram; and two brothers, Gerald and Kenny Cox.
