NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, February 1, 2007.

NEVADA - Margaret Jane Cox, 86, of Nevada, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Story County Long Term Care Center in Nevada.

Margaret was born August 17, 1920 at Murray, Iowa, the daughter of William Perry and Jennie Margaret (Scholl) Camp. She graduated from High School in 1938. Margaret was united in marriage to Frank Eugene Cox on January 20, 1939 in Eagleville, Missouri. Frank preceded Margaret in death on March 23, 1989. Margaret was a homemaker. She was a member of the Murray Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Murray and Nevada, Iowa. Margaret helped with the Senior Citizens Meals, volunteered at the library and at the Nevada Schools where she helped with the making of costumes for school plays. She enjoyed gardening and canning, making lap rugs for the VA Hospital in Knoxville, quilting, sewing, crocheting, cooking and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Margaret is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Herbert and Ruth Cox of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth and Brenda Cox of Houston, TX, Philip and Mary Cox of Nevada, IA; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Joyce and Tom Keeran of Guthrie Center, IA, Beverly and Roger McVey of Earlham, IA, Phyllis and Larry Krugler of Rogers, AR; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Edith Fleming of Osceola, IA.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 grandsons: Ed Cox, John Keeran; 2 sisters: Charlotte Fleming, Jean Hunter; and a brother: Galen Camp.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada, Iowa with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Murray Cemetery at Murray, Iowa.

Visitation will be 7:00 – 8:30 PM Thursday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Story Long Term Care Center.
