June 24, 1964-Dec. 30, 2006Joyce Lyn Dorr, 42, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Louisville, Ky., of complications from lupus. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Stonebrook Community Church in Ames.
Joyce Lyn Dorr spent the majority of her life in Ames and graduated from Ames High School. She moved to Kentucky a few years ago with her two children and pursued a successful career in court reporting. She was a conversationalist, never missing an opportunity to enjoy the humorous events of her life or anyone else's. She was a devoted mother and constant friend to those fortunate enough to know her.
She will be missed dearly by her beloved daughters, Aliceson Mary Peppels and Adiceson Lea Peppels; her identical twin sister, Jayne Kragel, of Ankeny; her sister, Judy (Dave) Dorr, of Ames; two brothers, Chuck (Heather) Dorr, of Paducah, Ky., and Craig (Mary) Dorr, of Salem, Ore.; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Alice Dorr; her father, Stanley Frederick Dorr; and the love of her life, Patrick L. Peppels. She will be laid to rest with her parents.
Memorials may be made to the Ali and Adi Peppels fund in care of Jayne Kragel, 309 NW 18th St., Unit 1704, Ankeny, IA 50023.
