THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, December 15, 2006.

Hazel Pedersen, 85, of Ames and formerly of Radcliffe, died Thursday, Dec. 14, at her assisted living apartment in Story City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. Burial will be in Radcliffe Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.

Hazel Pedersen, 85, of Ames and formerly of Radcliffe, died Thursday, Dec. 14, at her assisted living apartment in Story City. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Bethesda Lutheran in Ames. Burial will be at Radcliffe Cemetery in Radcliffe.

Hazel Pedersen was born Aug. 18, 1921, on a farm north of Radcliffe, to Gerhard and Tobie Hatteberg. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran in Radcliffe. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Pedersen June 16, 1945. They were the parents of four children: Gerald, Keith, David and Kathleen. After living in Ames for 30 years, she moved to Timberland in Story City in November 2006.

Survivors include four children, Gerald (Karen) Pedersen, Keith (Miriam) Pedersen, David (Janis) Pedersen and Kathleen (Bruce) Friest; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mavis Hatteberg and Ruth (Robert) Johnson; one brother, Gerber Hatteberg; two stepsisters, Marge Askland and Ruby Brinkmeyer; two brothers-in-law, Charles Pedersen and Bob Johnson; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; a brother, Reuben; a sister, Rhoda Golf; and her stepsister, Lavina Hodnefield.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.

Memorials may be given to Bethany Life Communities, Waldorf College or Homeward Hospice.
