Melinda Taylor, 93, of Ames, died Monday, Dec. 11, at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home.

M. Elizabeth Taylor, 93, of Ames, died Monday, Dec. 11, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, with Pastor Randy Gehring officiating. Burial will be in Ontario Cemetery.

M. Elizabeth Taylor was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Story City, to Osmond and Sarah (Peterson) Holland. She received her high school diploma and taught school before she married Wayne Taylor Aug. 10, 1936, at the Little Brown Church. She then became a homemaker. She lived in Ames for over 40 years after moving from Gilbert.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending church and reading the Bible, and she was very proud of her Norwegian heritage.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Gwen) Taylor, of Ames; seven grandchildren, Scott Taylor, of Ames, Nancy (Kip) Johnson, of Illinois, Brad (Laura) Taylor, of Ames, Susan (Eric) Nation, of Baxter, Brenda (David) Leach, of Albernet, Kim (Steve) Snider, of West Liberty, and Christine (Rodney) Heintz, of Ankeny; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Her parents; son-in-law and daughter, Dave and Ann Briley; her husband, Wayne; brother, Ransom Holland; and sister and brother-in-law, Juliette and Bob Baughman preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at Adams Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to Bethesda Lutheran Church or the family.
