THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, November 29, 2006.

Verdelle Friest, 95, formerly of Garden City, died Sunday, Nov. 26, at Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Stavanger Lutheran Church in Garden City. Burial will be in Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery.

Those thankful for having shared her life include her seven children, Patricia (John) Teager, of Tucson, Ariz., Sandra (Paul) Tungesvick, of Loveland, Colo., Jacqueline Henry, of Vail, Colo., David (Darla) Friest, of Lutsen, Minn., Douglas (Carol) Friest, of Harrisburg, S.D., Julie (Bruce) Bergeson, of Radcliffe, and Debra (Mike) Dubberke, of Hubbard; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Frances Broer, of New Hampton, and Charlotte Friest, of Garden City; along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.
