Ames newspaper. Died March 4, 1987 Elizabeth "Ib" Valline, 81, RR1, Ames, died Wednesday, March 4, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev Terrie Anderson of St Andrews Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens. Elizabeth Taylor was born Nov 23, 1905, in Story County to William and Millie (Lanning) Taylor. She attended Ames schools. On Dec 19, 1923 she married Gale "Swede" Valline in Des Moines. She was a member of the Farm Bureau, Women of the Moose, and Ames Town and Country Saddle Club. She owned and operated Mom's Cafe in West Ames during the 1950s. Survivors include her husband, Galen of Ames; one son Bill of Ames; two daughters, Barbara Thomas of Nevada, and Amy Herman of Nevada; 19 grandchildren, 33 greatgrandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandaughter, a grandson, two brothers, one sister, and her parents. Visitation will be 5-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Stevens Memorial Chapel with the family receiving friends 7:30 - 8:30 pm.
