John Russell Guy
Dec. 17, 1963-Nov. 3, 2006John Russell Guy, 42, of San Diego and formerly of Ames, died Friday, Nov. 3, at home. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Number One Fifth Avenue in San Diego. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Austin, Minn.
John Guy was born Dec. 17, 1963, in Ames, the son of David and Doris Guy. He graduated from Ames High School in 1982, and served in the Navy from 1982-86. After the Navy, he settled in San Diego where he worked at the University of California San Diego.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Guy, of Ames; and two sisters, Barbara and Peggy Guy, both of Ames.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Guy.
Memorials may be directed to the surviving family or a charity of the giver's choice.
