Marjorie L. Erickson
July 9, 1915 - Oct. 26, 2006

Marjorie Lucille Erickson, 91, of Naples, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 26, at Frances Georgeson Hospice in Naples. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

Marjorie Lucille Erickson was born July 9, 1915, in Fonda, to Maude and Charles Chase. She graduated from Ames High School.

She married Irving "Red" Erickson July 26, 1934, in Lehigh. They moved to Nevada from Ames in 1940. Marjorie lived in Nevada from 1940 to May 1999, when she moved to Naples.

In 1961, Marjorie and Red started the Erickson Furniture and Appliance Store in Nevada where they continued to do business until 1988. During some of that time, she also worked at the Reuben H. Donnelly Corporation where she was personnel director at the time she retired.

Marjorie was the first Welcome Wagon Hostess in Nevada, a member of the Indian Creek Country Club, Order of the Eastern Star and the Memorial Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Kaye (David) Gardner, of Naples, Fla.; son, Scott (Suzanne) Erickson, of Winthrop, Mass.; two grandsons, Todd Myers, of Naples, and Eric Myers, of Webster City; a granddaughter, Summer Erickson, of Winthrop, Mass.; and five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Marissa Myers, of Naples, and Hannah, Olivia and Boone Myers, of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving "Red" Erickson in 1987; her son, Wendell Erickson in 1980; and her two brothers, Donald Chase, of Fernald, and Harold Chase, of Ames.
