Connie Hunter

Connie Rene Lande was born on December 16, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa daughter of Gary M. Lande and Twila H. (Jordan) Henderson. She was a graduate of Ballard High School. Connie married Mike Hunter on June 12, 1982 in Lucas County and to this union a daughter, Branigan was born.

Connie liked antiques and enjoyed doing yard work. She was an Iowa State fan and would defend her team to anyone. Her biggest support was to her daughter, of which she was a huge fan, she loved to watch her dance, show cattle and sheep, and work with her horses. Connie's greatest love was her family, nothing was more important than to be gathered around with family.

Connie passed away on September 5, 2006 at her home after a four-year battle with breast cancer. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Mike; daughter, Branigan; father, Gary (Vicki) Lande of Lucas; mother, Twila (Everett) Henderson of Altoona; siblings: Deanna (Kirt) Kramme of Ankeny, Cindy (Bob) Smith of Chariton, and Troy Lande of Lucas; grandpa, Harvey Jordan of Huxley; sister-in-law, Robin Lande of Mitchellville; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Donna Hunter of Derby; sisters-in-law: Kim (Mike) Rehm of West Des Moines, and Tamra (Rick) Stevenson of Knoxville; brother-in-law, Nick (Alyse) Hunter of Chariton; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Connie is preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Lande; and grandparents: Audrey Jordan and Ardo and Wilma Lande.

Services for Connie were held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery. The family received friends on Friday, September 8 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Memorials may be left in memory of Connie for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.
