Marvell Kay (Foshe') Hermanson, 63, of Boone, died Sunday, Sept. 10, of complications from lung disease. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Marvell was born March 3, 1943, in Ames, to Lue and Eva (Sutter) Foshe'. She was raised and attended schools in Ames. She enjoyed her family, flowers, reading, cats, dogs, pumpkins and sunflowers. She had a great sense of humor. Most recently, she had been employed by Good Connections of Boone, a group home.
She was married to Orrie Peterson, and they had five children. She later was married to Bob Riney and Tom Hermanson.

She is survived by three daughters, Laura Jones, of Phoenix, Darla (Bruce) Hammond, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Robin (Rance) Peterson, of Phoenix; one son, Steven (Sherri) Peterson, of Huxley; nine grandchildren; one brother, Earnie (Lyn) Foshe', of Story City; one sister, Connie (Bob) Beard, of Marshalltown; and her companion, Carl Kidde, of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Bob Riney and Tom Hermanson; and one son, Kevin Peterson.

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
