Louis "Bud" B. LaFever

Louis "Bud" B. LaFever, 63, of Dixon, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at his home. Along with his wife, Vonda, they owned and operated Flower's Etc., Dixon, since 1990.

Mr. LaFever was born December 21, 1942, in Dixon, Illinois, the son of William and Josephine (Bevilacque) LaFever. He married Vonda Stouwie on June 30, 1989, in Iowa City. Bud was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dixon, Dixon Rotary Club, past board member of Dixon Main Street, past board member of the Dixon Chamber of Commerce and member of the E.A.A. He was an avid woodworker, hunter, fisherman and an airplane enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Vonda, Dixon; four sons, Bill (Sue) LaFever, Rockford, Bob LaFever, Corona Del Mar, Calif., Sayer (Erica) Martin, West Des Moines; Tyler Martin, Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Lisa (John) Sullivan, Chicago, Chris LaFever, Omaha, EllieJo LaFever, Dixon; his parents, William and Josephine LaFever, Dixon; two brothers, Bill (Joan) LaFever, Kansas City, Mo., Mike (Jane) LaFever, Dixon; two sisters, Barbara Jo (Edward) Kinports, Shawnee Mission, Kan., Jill (George) Reigle, Highland Park, Ill., and seven grandchildren, Cody and Kylie Sullivan, Reid and Morgan Zuerlein, Will, Arli Jo and Neve LaFever.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, August 19, 2006 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon, with Rev. Robert W. Jones officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon.

A memorial has been established to KSB Hospice.
