Marlin 'Guy' Clark
Marlin Leslie "Guy" Clark, 79, of Cambridge, died Saturday, August 26, 2006, at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.
Guy was born March 18, 1927 at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Leslie M. and Delva Stowe Clark. He served in the Navy. Guy had worked for the Des Moines Register for nearly 40 years as a mailer and supervisor in mailroom before retiring in 1992. He was a former member and president of the Local Typesetter's Union and had served as the Mayor of Cambridge for 18 years. Guy was an avid bowler and had bowled in the Peterson Classic several times.
He is survived by three sons: David Clark of Des Moines, IA, Mark (Nora) Clark of Runnells, IA, Chris (Kristin) Clark of Cambridge, IA; three daughters: Judy Bradley of Niceville, FL; Stevi Clark of Niceville, FL; Becky Smith of Norwalk, IA; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Mel Clark, of Pacifica, CA; and a sister, Mavis Mansell, of Burleson, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Martin and Marvin; and 2 sisters, Millie, and Bonnie, in infancy.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Cambridge Baptist Church with Dr. John Hartog officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.
Visitation was 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
