Estella Floden, 96, of Madrid and formerly of Ames, died Monday, Aug. 14, at Madrid Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Ames with the Rev. Chris Olkiewicz officiating.

Estella L. Floden was born June 25, 1910, near Huxley, to Edward & Belle (Stenson) Tweedt, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She married Sanford Floden Nov. 27, 1930. They lived in Slater from 1936 until moving to Ames in 1958. She moved to Madrid Home in 1997.

She was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

She is survived by one daughter, Verda Alleman, of Slater; one daughter-in-law, Rosalie Floden, of Ames; four brothers, Sherman Tweedt, of Carthage, Ill., Everett (Mary) Tweedt, and DeWayne Tweedt, of Madrid, and M. L. (Ruth) Tweedt, of Council Bluffs; one sister, Esther (Bill) Latta; one sister-in law, Mildred Tweedt, of Slater; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford; one son, Dean; two infant sons, Robert Dean and Alan Charles; and one sister, LeVona Nelson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Adams Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, Madrid Home or the Alzheimer's Association.
