Edna M. Underwood
Edna, 83, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away July 20, 2006, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice. She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Ames, Iowa. The daughter of John and Emma Anderson.
She was a resident of Brooksville since 1950, and former owner of the Storks Nest. She served as secretary for the First United Methodist Church and was always active in the community. She was a member of numerous community and social clubs and organizations, including being a charter member of Brooksville's Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi where she was active for over 50 years. Some of the things she enjoyed most were hosting parties, ballroom dancing, cooking and socializing with friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Violet and Roy Chitty and Ruth and Myron Boten of Iowa, and husbands, Edwin Wallace Russell (1959) and Raymond W. Underwood (1999).
Her closest survivors are her daughter, Susan Russell Wall (Brooksville), and her granddaughters, Christina S. Wall (Brooksville), and Mary Catherine Wall (Clearwater). She also is survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and step-relatives.
She will be remembered and loved in the hearts of many people whose lives she touched as a generous and caring individual.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at First United Methodist Church of Brooksville with interment immediately following at the Brooksville Cemetery. The family requests any memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hernanco-Pasco Hospice. Brewers Funeral Home handled arrangements.
