MRS. W. B. HOLLAND LAID TO REST

The funeral service of Mrs. W. B. Holland was held at the Presbyterian Church in Maxwell, Thursday, June 11. She had died the preceding Friday, at the age of 67 years, following an operation at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Estelle A. Acheson was born in Washington Township, Polk County, Sept. 12, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Acheson.

She received her advanced education in Des Moines, and for a number of years was a teacher in the public schools of Sutherland, Iowa and Salem, South Dakota.

On February 27, 1902, she married William B. Holland, and they established their first home on a farm south of Elwell. Later they moved to the Acheson Homestead in Washington Township, where they lived until 1922, when they moved to Maxwell.

Four children were born to them, Helen Rose, Anna Ruth, William Edward, and Mildred Olive. Helen Holland Frederickson and Mildred passed away in 1934.

She leaves her husband; Anna of Davenport, Iowa; and Edward of Colon, Panama, and two grandsons, Edward Wayne and William Andrew Frederickson of Junction City, Oregon. Three brothers, Roscoe, of Maxwell; William, of Ames; and Clarence, of Conrad, Montana; also survive.

Mrs. Holland became a member of the Presbyterian Church when she moved to Maxwell, in which she served as an active worker. As her many friends and acquaintances know, she was always interested and helpful in anything of a cultual nature for the town and community.
