TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 8, 2006.

Charlene Gummert, age 67, went home to the Lord on June 1, 2006. Services were held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006 at Harvest Assembly of God in Huxley. Pastor Jerry Newswander officiated. Family and friends gathered Sunday, June 4, 2006, for visitation at the Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater.

Charlene was born July 10, 1938 to Charles Edward and Annerine (Knutson) Knouse in Radcliffe, Iowa. She married Dallas D. Gummert in Radcliffe on July 27, 1957. They moved to Huxley in 1977. During the 1970's Charlene worked as a nurses aide at Bethany Manor in Story City. She was a line coordinator in food service at ISU for twenty-three years before her retirement in 2003. Charlene was a faithful member of Harvest Assembly of God in Huxley where she was involved in women's ministries.

Remaining here to miss her for a time in her home-going are her husband, Dallas; son, Doug (Sue) Gummert of Des Moines; daughter, Connie (Paul) Worden of Colo; sister, Beverly Kalvik of Story City; and seven beloved grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.

Memorials may be given to her church.
