Luke O'Donnell was born at Colo, June 7, 1879, a son of Patrick and Bridget O'Donnell, a pioneer family here. He grew to manhood in the community and was married February 28, 1905 to Anna Dorothea Nelson. They established their home on a farm north of Colo and there he had lived since and there the wife and mother of his six children died Jan. 22, 1919.

Mr. O'Donnell died late Friday as a result of an automobile crash on No. 65 north of here. Funeral services were held this morning at St. Gabriel Church in Zearing and the body was laid to rest in St. James Cemetery, Colo. The Rev. Fr. O'Donner presided at the funeral services.

The six children surviving are Alice at Hayfield; Francis of near Zearing; Irene (Gaylon) Huhn, Pauline of Marshalltown, Anna (Clifford) Buffington. One son, Barney, died in infancy. Also surviving are two grandchildren, a brother, Conner O'Donnell and a cousin, Kate Beirne, of Colo.
