Larry O. Ahlman, 60, of Casa Grande, Ariz., died peacefully at home on April 30, 2006. Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, at Elkhart Christian Church with Pastor Nancy Prall officiating. He was buried with full military honors at Elkhart Cemetery.

Larry was born in Hendricks, Minn., on April 18, 1946, to Arnold and Doris (Ness) Ahlman. He was a technician with US Geological Survey, and worked part-time at Enterprise Car Rental in Casa Grande. He was in the US Air Force in Vietnam.

Larry married Karen Barnhill on Aug. 3, 1968, and most recently was the elected commander of VFW Post 1677. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his vintage Ford Fairlane.

Immediate survivors include his wife, Karen of Casa Grande; a daughter, Erica (Christian) Lechner, of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Robert (Arlene) Ahlman and Steve (Janet) Ahlman, both of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; a sister, Ramona (Jim) Fisher, of Collins; and mother-in-law, Phyllis Barnhill, of Elkhart.
