Rinal Rites for Thelma Stevens Aga Held at Maxwell

Funeral services were held for Thelma L. Stevens Aga at the Church of Christ in Maxwell at 2 p.m., June 18, 1941, with her pastor, Rev. H. Walter of St. Paul in charge. He was assisted by Rev. H. C. Darling of Maxwell.

Many beautiful flowers helped express the sentiments of friends and relatives. Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson and Mrs. George Holmes of Collins sang three numbers: "Face to Face," "It is Well With My Soul," and "The Lord Knows Why, His Will Be Done." Mrs. Hugh Ferdig accompanied at the piano. Mrs. Frank Hill and Mrs. Harlan Witmer arranged the flowers.

Pallbearers were Norman Stevens, Amos Williams, Russell Carver, Clifton Carver and De Laine Stevens, nephews of the deceased, and Pete Knippenberg, a brother-in-law.

Thelma L. Stevens Aga, the youngest daughter of S. B. and Emily A. Stevens and a member of one of the oldest families of Story county, was born September 6, 1910, near Colo, Iowa, and passed away in St. Paul, Minn., June 16, 1941.

She attended public school at Collins and Shipley and was graduated from LeMars high school in June, 1929. She completed a course at Thompson's School of Beauty Culture in Des Moines in 1930 and practiced in Shenandoah and Des Moines for several years.

She was united in marriage to L. Jerome Aga of St. Paul, Minn., June 2, 1932. They lived in Des Moines and in Manning, where Mr. Aga served as instructor in the public schools. They had made their home in st. Paul since September, 1937, when Mr. Aga began his present work as manual arts instructor in the St. Paul schools.

An infant daughter, Janis Annette, was born Dec. 15, 1936, and passed away the following day.

Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Letetia Ann, 16 months of age, seven brothers, seven sisters, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The brothers and sisters are Arthur Stevens of South Dakota; Mrs. Alice Buffington of Titonka; Charles Stevens, Mrs. Hattie Carver and Mrs. Dorcas Webb, all of Zearing; Bradford Stevens of Collings[stat]; Squire Stevens of Des Moines; Jon Quincy Stevens of Marshalltown; Mrs. Edit B. Mather of Nevada; Mrs. Jennie Hix of Sioux City; Rev. Will Stevens of Washington, Ia.; Mrs. Ethel Henson and Iver Stevens of Maxwell; and Mrs. Velma Chandler of Omaha, Neb.

Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery at Collins.
