Patricia Ann Daigh, 54, of Boone, died at her home on March 21.Pat was born on June 1, 1951, in Story City, the daughter of Peter and Genevieve (Henderson) Redling. She graduated from South Hamilton High School in Jewell in 1969.
On Dec. 4, 1971, she married Kenneth Leroy Daigh in Jewell, who worked for AT&T for 38 years.
Pat worked at the Boone YMCA camp as a horse handler and aided handicapped youth with the horses and trail rides. Previously, she had been employed at the Boone Wal-Mart for eight years. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Pat enjoyed horses, especially Arabians, and collected model horses. She also enjoyed lunch with her husband at the Cyclone Truck Stop in Ames and spending time with her children, granddaughters and her dog, Laddie.
Pat is preceded in death by her father, Peter Redling; a sister, Shirley Redling; her uncle and aunt, Charlie and June Redling; an uncle, Henry Redling; and an uncle and aunt, Melbourne and Mary Henderson.
She is survived by her husband, Ken, of Boone; a son, Sheldon Daigh, of Boone; two daughters, Jodi Carroll and husband Doug of Omaha, Neb., and Heather Jobes and husband Jay and two granddaughters, Katie and Kayla Jobes, all of Hastings; her mother, Genevieve Redling, of Story City; two brothers, Francis Redling and wife, Marleen, of Lincoln, Neb., and Jerry Redling of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Gloria Oberender and husband, Jim, of Story City; four nieces, two nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name at any US Bank branch to help cover expenses. Donations may be made to the Pat Daigh Memorial Fund.
