Linda M. May, 37 of Nevada died on Friday, March 24, 2006 at her home. A prayer service was held Wednesday, March 29 at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor David R. Burling officiating. Cremation followed after the service, and burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Linda was born on November 16, 1968 in Waukegan, Illinois to Paul and Marilyn (Stearns) Heath. She was a graduate of DMACC and attended Iowa State University. On August 18, 1995, Linda married Christopher L. Smith in Nevada. She was employed as a laboratory technician at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Linda moved to Nevada six years ago but had also resided in Ames and Marshalltown. She was an avid reader, loved camping and the outdoors. She also enjoyed walking her dog, Hunter.

Linda is survived by her husband, Christopher Smith; 2 daughters, Victoria May and Samantha May, all of Nevada; a brother, Daniel Heath of Zion, Illinois; and a sister, Donna Eddy of Kelley.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada was entrusted with Linda's arrangements.
