THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, March 29, 2006.

Bernice L. Heddleston, 86, of Lakeview, Ark., died Monday, March 27, at Mountain Home, Ark. Services will be Thursday, March 30, at Midway Baptist Church, Midway, Ark. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

Bernice L. Heddleston was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Caruthers, Calif., to Harry and Elsie Bunn Stark. She married Kenneth Heddleston. She moved to Arkansas from Ames in 1976.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol L. (Michael) Hildebrand of Lakeview, Ark., and Loraine Marie (Leon) Young of Nacogdoches, Texas; one sister, Marie Wilkins of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren, Christy Rutledge and children Caitlyn, Chandler and Carley of Corpus Christi, Texas, April Young of Dallas, Matthew Young and son, Samuel, of Portland, Ore., and Drew and Molly Young of Nacogdoches, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Leroy Stark; and one grandson, Wesley Hildebrand.

Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
