Helen Warburton, 88, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Radcliffe.

Relatives and friends are invited to join for lunch and fellowship in the St. Johns Fellowship Hall following the service at the cemetery.

Helen was born April 13, 1917 at Grand Junction. She was the daughter of Wilbur and Alice (Hillman) Wertz.

She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1934. After graduation, Helen worked for Dr. Feltes and Swallum in Spencer, Iowa.

Helen was united in marriage to Wilfred (Bill) Warburton in 1939. They built B-17 airplanes at Boeing in Seatlle, Wash., during World War Two. They moved to Radcliffe in 1958.

Helen worked at the Younkers Store in Ames, Iowa for 22 years. In 1990, Helen retired and moved back to Radcliffe.

She was a member of St. John's Church, UMW and Legion Auxiliary 317. Helen had been an avid reader.

Helen is survived by her three sons, Alan and wife Jean Warburton of Long Beach, Mississippi; Mark and wife Becky Warburton of Radcliffe; Jay and wife Betsy Warburton of Story City; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three nieces, Marilyn Roseland, Jacquie Connelly, Kathy Kennedy; and sister-in-law Sara Warburton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, a 10 year old brother (Edward), two sisters, Dora Krieger and Caroline Ellett and brother, Hillman Wertz.

Blessed be to God for the life and memory of Helen Warburton.

Arrangements are being handled by Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.
