DAVID DENNISTON LAID TO REST
Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon for the late David Denniston, who passed away Oct. 21, at the age of 83 years. Services were in charge of the Rev. Z. Hougham, pastor of the Collins United Brethren church, and interment was in Collins Evergreen cemetery.
Three selections, "Nearer My God to Thee," "We Are Going Down the Valley", and "The Old Rugged Cross," were given by a ladies' quartet composed of Mrs. Eleanor Hall, Mrs. Pearl Torry, Miss Mary Holmes and Miss Zola Gilley. The beautiful floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. J. M. Smith and Mrs. H. R. Sokol.
Pall bearers were two grandsons, three grandson-in-law and nephew of the deceased. In the order named: Lloyd Holland, Vern Holland, Wm. Gilley, Elden Long, Wm. Smith and Frank Denniston.
In addition to the large concourse of local relatives and friends present at the services, many came from other places among them being the following:
Louden Denniston, son George and nephew Frank Denniston of Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Woods of Kensington, Kans., Mrs. Dora Clegg (?), son Ted and wife of Des Moines; Burton Keopple and family of St. Anthony; Mrs. O. Parker, Mrs. Grace Hoffman, Mrs. Minnie Holland, Miss Ollie Holland, all of Maxwell; Mrs. and Mrs. Harley Elliott of Cambridge, Mrs. S. S. Hanson of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Harrah of Williams, Ia.
