THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, January 24, 2006.

Malvina Herma Wilson, 92 formerly of Colo, died Sunday, Jan. 22, at Riverside Manor in Ames. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with the Rev. Myron D. Herzberg officiating. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Malvina was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Alden to Theodore and Sarah (Pederson) Wicks. She graduated from Roland High School in 1932. She married LaMont Wilson March 26, 1936, in Roland. They farmed north of Nevada until moving to Colo in the spring of 1958. She was a daycare provider in her Colo home for nearly 25 years. She also was a former volunteer at Nevada Public Library and a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking and babysitting.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Ted) Romberg of Wales, Wis., Linda (Ed) Fiske of Arvada, Colo.; and Judy (Bob) McCollom of Colo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaMont, May 9, 1965; one grandson, Jason Fiske on Sept. 16, 1990; and four brothers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Memorial Lutheran Church.

A memorial fund has been established in Malvina's name for Memorial Lutheran Church Nevada or Riverside Manor in Ames.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
