THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, January 13, 2006.
Ruth W. Alleman, 88, of Madrid and formerly of Slater, died Thursday, Jan. 12, at Madrid Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater with the Rev. Heidi Williams officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.
Ruth was born May 28, 1917, in Chicago, the daughter of Nels and Mable (Anderson) Lund. She married Arnold Alleman March 2, 1941, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Slater.
A homemaker, she enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and music. She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed her church circles.
She is survived by one daughter, Barb (Rod) Kaltenheuser of Kelley; one sister, Ellen (Don) Boda of Slater, two brothers, Dale (Dorothy) Lund of Slater and Alvin (Barbara) Lund of Polk City; one stepbrother, Glenn (Janice) Roxberg of Clive; granddaughters LeAnn (George) Markley of Huxley and Stacie (Dan) Price of Slater; and five great-grandchildren, McKayla, Alexa and Olivia Markley and Rylie and Nate Price.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Lloyd and Roy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater.
Adams Funeral Home of Ames is in charge of arrangements.
