Ray C. Raske, 51 of Nevada died on Tuesday, December 27 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Funeral services were held Friday, December 30 at the First Christian Church in Nevada with Pastor Brice Hughes officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Ray was born on September 24, 1954 in Story City to Lyle C. and Eva Ann (Silvest) Raske. He attended DMACC. On February 20, 2004, Ray married Teri Brekke in Des Moines. He was the assistant director of the transportation department at DMACC. Ray enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, fishing and camping.

Ray is survived by his wife, Teri (Brekke) Raske of Nevada; his mother, Eva Raske of Ankeny; 3 sons, Tony Raske of Iowa Falls, Tracy Raske of Des Moines, and Raymond Raske of Nevada; a step-son, Tyler Leslie of Nevada; a brother, Cecil Raske of Marshalltown; 2 sisters, Karon Raske (Mark) Ward of Nevada and Marvella (Allen) Martin of Madrid; a great nephew, Alex Brekke; and 8 grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his father Lyle on May 26, 1995.

A memorial fund has been established.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada was entrusted with the arrangements.
