THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 5, 2006.

Donald B. Hanson, 85, of Story City, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Don is survived by his wife, Betty of Story City; two sons, Steve (Mary) and Donald E. (Cindy), both of Roland; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Gladys Williams of Jewell, Irene Alvestad of Story City and Ila Barrington of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David A.; and four sisters, Elaine Olson, Betty Jane Tegland, Blanch Johnson and Bernice Hove.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
