THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 29, 2005.

Ray C. Raske, 51, of Nevada, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at First Christian Church in Nevada with the Rev. Brice Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Ray was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Story City to Lyle C. and Eva Ann (Silvest) Raske. He attended DMACC. He married Teri Brekke Feb. 20, 2004, in Des Moines. He was the assistant director of the transportation department at DMACC. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Teri (Brekke) Raske of Nevada; his mother, Eva Raske of Ankeny; three sons, Tony Raske of Iowa Falls, Tracy Raske of Des Moines and Raymond Raske of Nevada; one step-son, Tyler Leslie of Nevada; one brother, Cecil Raske of Marshalltown; two sisters, Karon Raske (Mark) Ward of Nevada and Marvella (Allen) Martin of Madrid; one great nephew, Alex Brekke; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Lyle on May 26, 1995.

A memorial fund has been established.
