LARS H. SKEIE

Lars H. Skeie was born at Saud, near Stavanger, Norway, on July 8, 1871, and passed away at his home northeast of Story City on Nov. 26, 1944, at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 18 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway. At the age of 19 he came to America and settled down in this community where he has resided 53 years.

On March 26, 1902, he was united in marriage to Nora Nilsen. He leaves to mourn his departure, besides his wife, six children: Mrs. Howard Rude and Mrs. Clifford Soren of Ames, Harvey of Story City, Mrs. Leonard T. Nelson of Radcliffe, Kenneth of Pyote, Tex., and Lyla at home; also seven grandchildren; a brother Swen of Story City and one sister and two brothers in Norway, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind and loving husband and father, and a patient sufferer to the end.

Funeral services were held Nov. 30 from the home and at the Elim Lutheran church at Randall, Rev. Bringle officiating, assisted by Re. Paulsrud. Burial at Mt. Olive cemetery. A large sum of money was given in his memory to missions, Story City Memorial hospital, and several other places, as well as a large floral tribute.
