HELEN KELLEY
Helen R. Kelley, 3611 Woodland Ave., died late Wednesday evening March 10 at Mary Greeley Hospital. She as the wife of retired district court judge Ed J. Kelley.
Funeral services are Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The Rev. Fr. James Supple will officiate with burial in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Mrs. Kelley was born Dec. 2, 1908 in Wellman. She married Ed J. Kelley July 15, 1932 in Wellman.
She was a graduate of Mont St. Claire Academy in Clinton. She graduated from the University of Iowa and taught music there. Mrs. Kelley was a member of Alpha Delta Phi Beta Phi, Phi Beta Kappa, St. Thomas Guild, the Altar Rosary Society and the Ames Garden Club. She was a past president of the A.W.C. and the A.C.C.W. and was a sextet of the A.W.C. Mrs. Kelley was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of American and Orchid.
Mrs. Kelley is survived by two sons, James F. of Davenport and Patrick J. of University City, Mo., a daughter Kathleen of Atlanta, Ga. and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday at Stevens Memorial Chapel. There will be a scripture reading at 8 p.m. Friday.
