NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 15, 2005.

Henry Virgil Larson, 88 of Nevada died on Sunday, December 11 at Story County Long Term Care. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 14 at Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial, with military rites, followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Henry was born on April 22, 1917 in Nevada to Frederick K. and Emma C. (Hoskins) Larson. He was a W.W. II veteran. On May 28, 1938, he married Gwendolyn G. Mayo at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Henry was a brick layer and farmer. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #48 in Nevada.

Henry is survived by a son, Charles (Mary) Larson of Ames; 2 daughters, Mary Kay Larson of Austin, Texas and Anne (Carl) Gray of Colo; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Fosseen of Radcliffe and Myrtle Hankins of Phoenix, Arizona

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Gwendolyn on August 18, 1999.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 13 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Memorials may be directed to the Memorial Lutheran Church in memory of Henry.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the arrangements.
