Pioneer Lady Passes Beyond.

The death of Mrs. M. E. Baughman occurred in this city Tuesday at seventeen minutes after twelve o'clock and the funeral will be held this afternoon, interment being in the Ontario cemetery.

The death removes from this city one of the best known and most beloved of the pioneers. For fifty-one years she has made her home in Story county and during all that time has been held in the highest regard by all who knew her. Her long years residence here caused her to become well known and there will be universal regret to learn of her death.

When a girl in her teens she united with the Christian church and has continued a member until the time of her death. The body was taken to Ontario where the services were held in the Christian church. She was a native of Ohio, a faithful, worthy woman in every respect and has given of her life to the best interests of this entire community.

Four children are left, namely: H. Baughmanm J. T. Baughman, Mrs. Laura Wilkinson and Mrs. W. H. Beedle, all of Ames.
