John P. Zenor died at his home in Gilbert on Friday morning, December 11th at 9:39. Funeral services was held at the congregational church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Wilson officiating. Interment in the beautiful little cemetery east of town.
John P. Zenor was born in the state of Indiana in the year of 1841, 26th day of August. Moved with his parents to Zenorville, Iowa, in 1851 and was married to Miss Mattie Lee in 1863. To this union was born three sons and one daughter, Charles, Howard, Clifford and Alice. Howard and Alice still survive him and later was married to Miss Irene Gasaway July 23rd, 1885 to this union was born two sons Robert and Fred. Robert passed away when nine years old. Mr. Zenor has lived near Gilbert nearly all his life and was prominent in the mercantile business. He leaves a wife and two sons and one daughter to mourn his loss. A short time before his death he made a confession of his faith in Jesus.
