Oley Wold Died Last Saturday

Oley Wold, 74, of Gilbert, passed away in Mary Greeley hospital Saturday morning at 11:30.

His death was caused by pneumonia. He had been ill for a year.

Mr. Wold was born Dec. 25, 1871, at Moville, Ia., and had lived in Story county for 55 years. He was married to Julia Manges. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1943. A daughter, Mrs. Geo. Truesdale [should be Truesdell] died May 16, 1944.

He was a member of the IOOF and a member of the board of education of the Gilbert school since it was consolidated.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Gilbert church with Rev. Otis Smith of Milford, Iowa in charge. Burial was made in the Gilbert cemetery.

Survivors are a son, Galen Wold of Gilbert; five brothers, Noah Wold of Denver, Norman Wold of Sioux City, Albert Parker of Hubbard, Neb., and Arsly Parker of Minnesota; two sisters Mrs. Elsie Cummings [should be Cummins] of Hamburg, Ia., and Mrs. Cora Sweet of Flagner, Colo., and a grand-daughter, Mrs. Jens Larson of Ames.
