Mrs. Julia Ann Manges Wold, 75, of Gilbert, died at her home at 2 p. m. Sunday of a lingering illness. She had been ill for three years.
Mrs. Wold was born May 16, 1868, in Freeport, Ill. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Manges, were originally from Somerset county, Pa., and drove to Illinois in a covered wagon, living in Illinois from 1856 to 1871. They then came to Iowa in a covered wagon in 1871.
She was married to Oley Wold on Feb. 12, 1896.
Mrs. Wold attended the Ray school at that time a famous school in Ames. She was a member of the Congregational church at Gilbert.
Surviving are her husband, Oley, and a son, Galen, a daughter, Mrs. Leona Truesdall, and a granddaughter, Pauline Christianson. Also four brothers, Will and Clate Manges of Gilbert; Sam of Boone, and Harley of Albert Lea, Minn.; and one sister, Mrs. Allie Cross of Ames.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock in the Gilbert Congregational church with Rev. J. O. Smith in charge. Burial will be in the Gilbert cemetery. The body is lying in state at the Adams Funeral home in Ames.
Pall bearers will be Ray Crawford, Ruben Benn, Pleas Fincham, Ross Dodds, Ira Dodds and George Shepard.
