JOHN WEGST DIED AT GILBERT

John Wegst, 83, of Gilbert, died last Thursday in his home there, after a short illness. Death was due to old age and complications.

Born April 18, 1863, in Indiana. Mr. Wegst came to the Walnut Grove community with his parents. Later he lived at Storm Lake. He was a farmer and drove the Gilbert school bus for 20 years.

He was a member of the Zenorsville Evangelical church west of Gilbert. He was married to Anna Kelley in 1883.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Roy Adams of Ames and Mrs. Daisy Gammell of Mt. Pleasant, Ia.

Funeral services were held Friday in the Adams Mortuary with the Rev. Hal Riggs officiating. Burial was in the Gilbert cemetery.
