Funeral Services On Thursday For Bess McNichols

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday for Bess McNichols, 83, a former Nevada resident who died Tuesday at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines. She had been a resident of Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Des Moines for the past year.

Miss McNichols was born Feb. 4, 1884 in Nevada, daughter of Michael and Hannah McNichols. She attended school at Milford Township and the Nevada Public Schools.

She was a registered nurse, a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines and for many years was a nurse on the staff there. She was a sister of the late Mrs. James Curtis of Nevada and has two Nevada nieces, Edna and Genevieve Curtis. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Burge of West Des Moines and a nephew, William L. Sharpe, Des Moines.

The requiem Mass for Miss McNichols' funeral will be held in St. Theresa's Church in Des Moines and burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Caldwell-Brien Funeral Home in Des Moines at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
