THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 8, 2005.

Kathryn Rae (Jones) Shadle, 55, of Boone and formerly of Ogden, died Monday, Dec. 5, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A memorial service will be at10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone with the Rev. Daniel W. Solomon officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Swede Valley Lutheran Cemetery south of Ogden. A gathering will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone.

Kathryn Rae Jones was born March 8, 1950, in Boone. She graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1968 and the Mercy School of Nursing. She married Tim Shadle on Sept. 16, 1972, at Swede Valley Lutheran Church, south of Ogden. The couple lived in Ogden until moving to Boone in 1980. She had worked as a registered nurse at Boone County Hospital, Ogden Manor and Woodward State Hospital. She was employed by Health Care Excel in Des Moines, where she reviewed Medicaid claims for the state of Iowa.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone. She was a Rainbow Girl and had served as Worthy Advisor. Her hobbies included counted cross stitch, genealogy and reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Shadle of Boone; one daughter, Megan Shadle of Boone; her mother, Stella and her husband Roland Kruse of Ogden; her father, Don Jones and his wife Sherry of Rippey; one sister, Diane and her husband Jim Leibli of Burlington; one brother, Brian Jones of Des Moines; one sister-in-law, Cynthia and her husband Bill Staebler of Ogden; one brother-in-law, Joe Shadle of Boone; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to Ericson Public Library, 702 Greene St., Boone, IA 50036.

Carson Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of arrangements.
