Mrs. Martha Welland Was Laid To Rest

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Welland were held from Ryan Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. E. P. Windman officiating.

Organ music was played at the opening and closing of the service.

The casket bearers were Lyle Neubauer, Duane Neubauer, Marvin Neubauer, Ronald Neubauer and Wallace Thies.

Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. Martha Welland passed away at the Mellor Nursing Home in Ames, on Wednesday, August 11, 1954. She had been in failing health for some time.

Martha Pederson, daughter of Rachel and Barney Pederson was born on October 13, 1876, near Lee, Illinois.

At an early age she moved to Iowa with her parents to a farm near Radcliffe. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On March 16, 1904, she was united in marriage to Ole T. Welland. They resided on a farm in the Salem community for thirty years then moved to Nevada.

Deceased is survived by two daughters: Ruby (Mrs. Dale Rasmussen) of Hubbard and Myrtle (Mrs. Arthur Neubauer) of Iowa Falls; two sisters: Mrs. Bert Mortvedt of Radcliffe and Mrs. Sarah Wicks of Radcliffe; two brothers: Chris, of Rock Island, Ill., and Lewis of Marshalltown, ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brotherss.
