Nevadans Attend Hathaway Services

A number from Nevada attended the funeral services last Tuesday in Ogden of Dr. J. C. Hathaway, former Nevada dentist who died at 1:55 Sunday, May 3 in the hospital at Boone following exploratory surgery following two weeks previous in which malignancy of the liver was found.

At his bedside were Mrs. Hathaway, his son's widow, Mrs. Wayne Hathaway, and the daughters and sons=in-law of Mrs. Hathaway, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Kelly and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Lee.

Dr. Hathaway was born in Canada May 8, 1883 and came to the United States at the age of three. After graduation from the SUI in Iowa City he practiced in Nevada for a number of years before coming to Ogden in 1943.

In addition to his wife, Garnet to whom he was married March 20, 1926 Dr. Hathaway is survived by two daughters, Harriet and Maxine and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. George Kelly, Los Alamitos, Calif. and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Lee, West Des Moines, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wayne Hathaway, Pleasantville, Ohio and by several grandchildren.

Dr. Hathaway was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Hathaway. He was a member of the Community Methodist Church, Ogden Lions Club and Masonic Lodge.
