Jill Ann Wright, lost here battle with depression on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at her home in Roland.

Jill was born on Aug. 10, 1962, in Webster City to Kenneth and the late Myra Magnuson. Jill grew up in Ellsworth and attended South Hamilton schools and went on to earn a bachelor's of science degree from Iowa State University, and later, an endorsement in special education.

Jill married Marvin Wright on June 11, 1983, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. The couple eventually settled in Roland, where they raised their three children and Jill taught at Roland-Story Middle School until 1026.

Jill loved to read, travel, bake goodies and spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Jill is survived by her husband, Marvin, her father, Kenneth Magnuson, three children, Curtis (Andrea) Wright, Rachel (Jordan) Walbaum and Mark Wright, grandchildren, Annie and Cooper Walbaum, and her sister, Jean (John) Darnell.

Her mother, Myra Magnuson, preceded her in death on June 15, 2017.

Jill was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, at Bergen Church in Roland, with a visitation hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Way of Story County. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
