Joseph William Albright, 86, of State Center, died this morning Sept. 21, 1981, at Story County Hospital.

He was born Oct. 19, 1897 [sic] in Grundy County, the son of William and Mary Catherine Allen Albright. On Jan. 2, 1916 he married Bessie Edna Wise at Dallas Center.

The couple farmed in Grundy and Marshall Counties coming to Marshall County in 1943. Mr. Albright retired at age 72. He was a member of the Maxwell Church of the Brethren and active in the State Center and Nevada Senior Citizens.

He is survived by his wife; a son-in-law, Lloyd Pyle of Denver, Colo.; a friend, Sadie Chew, who has made her home with the Albrights for many years since the death of her father; two brothers, Gaylen of Eldora and Bruce of Brainard, Minn.; two sisters, Mae Kruschwitz of Burwell, Neb. and Wilma Kruschwitz of Eldora; 4 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great grandsons; and seven step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Lavonne Pyle, in 1955; and a brother, Jake.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Harold E. Smith and Rev. Harry L. Smith officiating. Burial ill be in the Nevada cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, from Wednesday till time of service.
