MRS. R. L. BOYCE WAS LAID TO REST SUNDAY AFTERNOON

WELL KNOSN WOMAN PASSED AWAY AT HOM HERE FRIDAY EVENING

Funeral services for Mrs. R. L. Boyce, 53, who lived at her home on Fifth street, Friday evening at 9:30 were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from Memorial Lutheran church, after which the body was laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery. The services were in charge of Dr. C. N. Swihart and interment made under the burial ceremonies of the Rebekah lodge, I. O. O. F.

The death of Mrs. Boyce followed a week's very critical condition after a serious surgical operation. It was about three years ago that Mrs. Boyce's health became impaired and in October of last year she submitted to an operation similar in nature to the one preceding her death.

The funeral services were largely attended and in addition to the immediate relatives, there were many neighbors and friends to join with the members of the various orders to which she belonged, to pay aa final tribute of respect to her earthly body.

Relatives from out of town who were present at the funeral were the brother, J. H. Ball of Waterton, the sister, Miss Lule Ball of West Union, a niece, Mrs. Ella Miller of Charles City, Mr. Boyce's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Borland of Oelwein, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Boland and Mr. and Mrs. Borland of Oelwein, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Borland of Hancock, Mr. Boyce's brother, Charles Boyce of North Platte, Nebraska and a sister, Mrs. Seth Sawyer [should be Schroyer] of West Union.

The deceased was born Sarah L. Ball, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Ball, in Fayette county, Iowa, on June 30, 1872, and died as stated at her home in Nevada, Iowa, April 10, 1925.

She was united in marriage to Roy L. Boyce at West Union, March 18, 1896. Both were born in that community and continued to make that their home with the exception of three years spent in Spring Valley, Minn., until they came to Nevada, a few years ago. They have one son, Robert Boyce, a graduate of the Nevada schools, who is still at home.

Mrs. Boyce, until she was weakened by illness, was a woman very active in the home and affairs of live and died a member of the Rebekahs, Royal Neighbors, Yeomen and Woman's Relief Corps.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Satler [should be Sadler] and Mrs. Etta Hatch.

She leaves as members of her immediate family her husband, her son, Robert, her sisters, Mrs. Alva Myers of Los Angeles and Miss Bule Ball of West Union and brothers, J. H. Ball of Waterloo and William Ball of West Union.

Mrs. Boyce was woman who during her few years residence in Nevada had made many warm friends through her various associations and activities and the husband and son receive the very kindly sympathy of all.
