Services Held In Maxwell March 6th For Lillian Pearson
Funeral services were held March 6 in the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell at 2 p. m. for Lillian K. Pearson. Officiating was Rev. J. E. McClellan and music was furnished by Madeline Summitt Flowers were in charge of Helen Hagge and Mazie Nuzum.
Casket bearers were Russell Junck, Jerroll Pearson, Theodore Pearson, David Junck, Alan Pearson and David Pearson. Interment was in the Peoria Cemetery and the Cooper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Obituary
Lillian Kathryn Pearson, daughter of William and Sarah Jane Stark, was born Feb. 26, 1882 in Story County near Colo and passed away in the Collins Retirement Home on March 3 at the age of 81 years and 5 days.
She was united in marriage to Nathan J. Pearson on Jan. 9, 1901, and to this union were born six children: Dale of Maxwell; William Ross of Pontiac, Mich.; Robert Byron of Omaha; Eldon Stark of Maxwell and Mrs. Howard Junck (Elizabeth) of Ogden and Mrs. Russell Shaver (Hazel) of Rochester, Mich.
She was baptized in the Methodist Church in South Dakota as a child. When she was 14 she moved with her parents to Polk County, Iowa, near the Peoria Church community. She joined the Peoria Methodist Church. After her marriage to Mr. Pearson, they moved to a farm north of Maxwell and while there they were affiliated with the Maxwell Methodist Church. In 1918 they moved back to Polk County and transferred to the Peoria Church. They resided in this community until 1939.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
She is survived by her six children, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and two sisters, Nettie and Hazel Stark. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter and a grandson.
