Arthur McCreight

Arthur W. McCreight, 88, Story City, died of pneumonia Thursday, Jan. 16, 1986, at his home. Services were held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City with thee Rev. Harley Carbaugh officiating. Burial was in the Center Cemetery southwest of Story City.

Arthur McCreight was born April 20, 1897, in Wilsey, Kan., to William and Cordelia McCreight. He was in the U.S. Army during World War I. On Nov. 4, 1930, he married Myrtle Matheason.

Mr. McCreight was a retired brick mason. He had donated many hours to the upkeep of the Grace United Methodist parsonage and also to the repair of the Senior Citizen Center in Story City.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; a daughter, Marcella Wolfe, Windsor, Colo.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Ekstrum, Wichita, Kan.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
