HOLGER HOFFMAN

Holgor Hoffman was born at Lokkna, Denmark, New Copenhagen, January 25, 1892 and died March 23, 1967, at the Story City Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.

He was baptized and confirmed in Denmark, and came to America in 1912 at the age of 30. He first settled at Omaha, Nebraska, but later moved to Ames, Iowa, where he met and married Hannah Anderson of Story City, February 3, 1919. They farmed southwest of Story City for over 40 years. He was a member of the Grace E.U.B. church in Story City for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters; one son, Pvt. Donald Hoffman, who was killed in France during World War II.

Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife, Hannah; one son Leslie of Story City; one brother, Carsten Hoffman, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Christianson both of Omaha, Nebr.; four grandchildren; also three brothers and two sisters in Denmark.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27, 1967 from Grace E. U. B. church in Story City. The Rev. Paul H. Beckman was in charge. Burial was at Center Cemetery west of Story City.

Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle, organist, accompanied Kenneth Peterson, soloist, as he sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

Pallbearers were Sterling Anderson, LeVerne Dickinson, Merrill Randau, Clifton Miller, Lyle Johnson and Donald Furman.
