MRS. HENRY SKEIE

Nora Olson Skeie, daughter of Torre and Anna Olson was born on the Reverend Amlund farm, about 2 miles north east of Story City on the 26th day of June, 1897. She passed away on June 12th, 1956 at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother Gerhard. Survivors include her husband, Henry Skeie, her mother, Mrs. T. T. Olson, Story City; her sister, Mrs. Sophie Benson, Randall; a brother, Arnie Olson, Beverly Hills, California; also 6 nephews besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Nora was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in the St. Petri Church at Story City. She attended the local schools and was graduated from high school in 1916. On January 18, 1917, she was united in marriage with Henry Skeie and together they have maintained their home in the vicinity of Story City for almost 40 years. After her marriage she transferred her church membership from St. Petri to the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall where she had been a faithful member until her death.

Having no children of their own, Nora and Henry opened their home and hearts a number of times to provide care and help for the children of others. Throughout her lifetime, Nora was always a cheerful and generous giver of her time, ----- and financial means for the kingdom of God. Because of her interests in her community, home, church and Bible Camp she made contacts with people near at hand and in far distant places. Many of these people may be led to live ----er and more blessed lives because of the part she played.

Although God has now deemed it wise to take her from our midst, her prayers and her good deeds will continue to have a vital influence for years to come. Blessed be her memory.
