Cliff Sevold Died Monday at Ames
Clifford H. (Cliff) Sevold, 50, Ames' friendliest, most courteous employee in a contest last year, died at work at 9 a.m. Monday.
For the past 11 years he has been employed at Ames Stationers, and he has been a resident of Story County all his life.
In about 1940, as a sophomore, he dropped out of Iowa State University to operate the family business when his father's health failed. The Sevold Cafe here, was operated by his family for about 30 years.
Ten years later, he sold the cafe because of his health and moved to Ames. He is a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church at Ames.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, and his mother, Mrs. H. O. Sevold.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Ames EUB church, the Rev. E. E. Peters officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
